How Your Day Unfolds :
In-depth tour info
Your English-speaking driver will arrive in time at the port where your cruise ship will dock or at the hotel in Naples where you accommodate and after introducing himself to the reception he will inform the concierge that he is ready to begin the one-day tour with you.
Although we recommend these visits, our tours are curated to your tastes, so how your day unfolds is up to you. We simply want to give you an idea of what your trip can “look like.”
Once get on board of our comfortable vehicle, the tour will begin with your driver who will be happy to give you some general information about the monuments and the most important tourist attractions that are worth visiting or that you will find by crossing the city of Naples.
Once left the city-center traffic, you will get onto the motorway, driving near the Mount Vesuvius that you will have on the left side and going on through the different motorway exits, you will see the one of Herculaneum too, another visitable city that is situated at the foot of the Vesuvius and that was buried along with Pompeii and Stabia during the eruption of 79 B.C.
You will reach Ravello, this little village on the top of the hill on the coastal promontory of Amalfi and Minori, driving along the Chiunzi pass, from which altitude you will have the first approach to the view. This place is pure, not crowded by mass tourism, at the same time it is famous for its breathtaking panorama and the beauty of the gardens of Cimbrone and Ruffolo villas. The city of Ravello is also called THE CITY OF MUSIC, as a matter of fact during the May-September period, there is an important music festival in honor of the great musician RICHARD WAGNER who composed in Ravello the second part of his work PARSIFAL. Still today in all theatres of the world when the conductors introduce the second part of the work, in the background behind the orchestra the astonishing scenery of the Amalfi coast is represented as choreography. The stop in Ravello will last one hour and then you will continue the tour to Amalfi.
Going down the hill of Ravello will be exciting and then you will come to the crowded port in the center of Amalfi in 30 minutes.
Amalfi holds the most important historic and cultural center of the coast; it is not a coincidence that the Amalfi coast takes its name from this little place, that at its time became the first most important maritime republic of Italy. Generally, this place is the most crowded, due to the stopping of tourist buses and the port abuzz with public ferries and private boats. Getting in the pedestrian precinct situated behind the port you will arrive at PIAZZA DEL DUOMO immediately, where you will visit the very beautiful ancient cathedral and the heaven cloister or you will go shopping among shops of clothes, souvenirs, and pottery.
After Amalfi’s visit the tour will go on up the main street of the Amalfi coast, so going through the heart of the coast you will cross fishermen communities; you will find in order Conca Dei Marini then Furore and Praiano. There is the possibility, for anyone interested, to stop and lunch in one of the different panoramic restaurants available along the coast street, or to visit one of the best pottery factories or showroom situated along the route. Then you will continue the trip towards the city of Positano.
At the entrance of Positano you will begin the descent towards the center of the place, going through the different hotels and restaurants that are situated along the one-way street; until reaching PIAZZA DEI MULINI where you will continue by feet the walk, because from that point it begins a pedestrian precinct, so it will be the point where you will meet again with your driver too (after agreeing with him on return hour). You can visit the cathedral down the marina, the shops in which the famous linen suits of Positano fashion and hand-made shoes are sold, pottery shops, perfumes, lemon candles, etc.
After one hour or more of free time in the center of Positano, you will leave to come back to Naples, crossing the first part of the Amalfi coast and passing by Li Galli isles’ archipelago, there will be the wildest part of the coast: some local farms and piece of cultivated land. You will cross the promontory that divides the two gulfs in half so that you will reach the part of the peninsula that overlooks the Gulf of Naples; then you will get into the very beautiful Sorrento coast.
After this satisfying day, your driver will take you to the hotel again, greeting and thanking you for the very beautiful day together.
